We’re looking for an Electrical Drafter to help lead technical design projects and support critical energy infrastructure across the U.S. This remote role will provide customer focused professional engineering design services to the electrical power industry. Our Team is providing proven substation design solutions to fast-track construction while minimizing contractor requests for information. Some of our major tasks include but not limited to substation layout, protection and control, ground grid, substation equipment interconnections, underground and overhead cable design, commissioning, and energization support.
What You’ll Do:
- Developing engineering drawings utilizing Computer Aided Drafting (AutoCAD) or other drafting software’s
- Ability to understand physical layout drawings, one-line and three-lines drawings, electrical schematics, electrical equipment, and code requirements
- Must be able to take the design from early design to detailed design by reviewing previous designs and discussions with engineering team
- Proficient with codes and standards especially with clearances and spacings at different voltages
- Assist during field walkdowns to capture the site conditions and other information
- Mentoring junior designers and developing/conducting training for team
The Experience We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant power industry experience
- Software experience (Substation Design Suite, Autodesk Invertor, Autodesk CAD) is required
- Skill with organizing and time managing objectives from a remote location
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Able to work remotely with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel 15–20% across the continental U.S.
- Valid driver’s license
- Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
- Available for extended and irregular hours as needed
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments
- Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments
