Electrical Engineer (M&E)

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be involved in electrical engineering design and project delivery for building services projects. This position is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest in Electrical Engineering works, particularly in design, testing and commissioning of electrical installations

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform electrical services calculations and develop concepts, space planning, engineering strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for projects.
  • Prepare design drawings for building electrical services systems.
  • Attend project meetings representing M&E services and manage assigned M&E projects.
  • Participate in project planning, management, and supervision, including cost control and coordination of subcontract works to meet project timelines, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Ensure project compliance with relevant authority requirements and client specifications.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports, design documentation, and tender submissions in accordance with project schedules.
  • Assist the Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) in carrying out site inspections for Low Tension (LT) and High Tension (HT) electrical installations.
  • Conduct power system studies and electrical system analysis where required.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines such as architects, interior designers, and contractors to support effective project execution.
  • Support testing, inspection, and commissioning activities of electrical installations to ensure proper system performance and compliance with project requirements.


Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in building services or electrical engineering projects.
  • Strong interest in electrical design, site inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles related to building services.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally in the M&E consultancy field.


Software Requirements

Candidates should have working knowledge of the following engineering and drafting software:

  • AutoCAD (required for preparation of electrical design drawings)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
