Electrical Engineer

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Technical expert in the highly complex Electronic Security Center (ESC)/Electronic Security Systems Mandatory Center of Expertise (ESS-MCX) for USACE, located at the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville

Provide expertise to field operating Divisions/Districts/Agencies in resolution of operational and technical problems before and after Electronic Security Systems (ESS) acceptance.

Resolve Electronic Security Systems (ESS) technical and fielding issues for hardware/software in the design, installation, and operations phases of deployment.

Conduct special studies of state-of-the-art Electronic Security Systems (ESS application and special problems, which arise during design, construction, testing, and operation.

Verify all design analyses and calculations prior to start of Division/District detail design activities.

Review and evaluate all proposed individual project changes for overall impacts and potential precedent setting actions.

Prepare designs for application of unique equipment or systems for complex and highly sophisticated state-of-the-art instrumentation systems.

Resolve unique one-of-a-kind problems requiring new techniques and state-of-the-art design considerations.

Review contractor's ESS proposals, including hardware, software, sensors, communications, and test/checkout procedures.

Review contractor's submittals/shop drawings for accuracy, adequacy, and conformance with contract drawings and specifications, and contractor's test plans and procedures.
