Electrical Engineering Manager

The Electrical Engineering Manager leads a team of electrical engineers and designers responsible for developing conveyor control systems, power distribution systems, motor controls, PLC programming, and automation solutions. This position ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet safety and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor electrical engineers, controls engineers, and designers.
  • Oversee electrical design for conveyor and material-handling systems.
  • Review and approve electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and customer specifications.
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, project management, and installation teams.
  • Lead development of PLC, HMI, VFD, and automated control systems.
  • Support complex electrical and controls issues during commissioning and startup.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve conveyor performance and reliability.
  • Manage engineering resources and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide technical support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or 7–10+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in conveyor systems, automation, or material handling.
  • 3–5+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, UL, and OSHA requirements.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with warehouse automation, distribution centers, or manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of conveyor controls and integration with robotics or automated storage systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
