Position Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Integration Engineer I to support the design, installation, testing, and integration of electrical systems used in power-generation equipment and industrial enclosures. This role combines engineering, troubleshooting, production support, and technical guidance.

The ideal candidate is experienced with electrical schematics, control wiring, power-generation equipment, and electrical testing, with the ability to identify and resolve issues before equipment is shipped.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review electrical designs, schematics, drawings, layouts, and specifications for production requirements and NEC compliance.
  • Develop electrical drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and equipment specifications.
  • Support electrical design and proposal requirements with Sales Engineering.
  • Provide guidance and training to electricians on schematic interpretation, installation, testing, labeling, and safe work practices.
  • Establish and communicate standard approaches for electrical component layout and installation.
  • Inspect and test completed equipment using drawings, specifications, and defined test procedures.
  • Identify electrical discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with production leadership.
  • Perform load calculations and standard electrical computations.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Review incoming third-party electrical materials and coordinate requirements for their integration.
  • Support cross-training of production personnel on electrical systems and processes.
  • Provide technical assistance with electrical troubleshooting, installation, and testing.
  • Provide on-the-job technical guidance related to equipment, tools, and work methods.
  • Use initiative to establish appropriate work methods and priorities.
  • Support customer and job-site technical needs as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience involving the design, installation, and testing of electrical equipment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience designing and building control panels for basic electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment and testing methods, including multimeters, amp meters, functional testing, and defined indicators.
  • Understanding of AC/DC electricity and electrical theory.
  • Working knowledge of the current National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Strong understanding of power-generation equipment, including:
    • Generators
    • Transformers
    • Switchboards
    • Controllers
    • Circuit breakers
    • Motors
    • Heating units
    • Conduit systems
    • Ability to perform basic programming of electrical equipment such as displays, sensors, and HMIs.
    • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
    • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
    • Professional customer communication and relationship skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with engineering, production, electrical, and management teams.
    • Strong organization and attention to detail.
    • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience with power-generation systems, electronics controls, and fuel-system integration.
  • Experience troubleshooting and integrating electrical systems in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience providing technical training or guidance to electricians and production personnel.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer use, and hands-on equipment work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Ability to travel between local facilities when needed.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
