Job Title: Electrical Lineman
Job Location: Various locations across the UK, including urban and rural areas.

Job Type: Full-time/Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical power lines and systems.
  • Inspect and test power lines and auxiliary equipment to locate and diagnose problems.
  • Adhere to strict safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment, such as power tools, measuring devices, and vehicles equipped with hydraulic lifts.
  • Climb poles using belts
  • Work in various environments and weather conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and remote areas.
  • Collaborate with other utility workers and professionals to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, colleagues, and supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of training in electrical linework.
  • Relevant certifications, such as a climbing certification, lineman electrical training, and lineman health and safety training.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, power generation, and distribution.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Working Conditions:

  • Linemen are expected to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, and snow.
  • The role involves traveling to different sites and you will be based in the UK.
  • Working hours can include shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
