Electrical Project Manager - Commercial & Industrial
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial electrical construction projects for a well-established electrical contractor in the Houston market. This role is responsible for managing projects from award through closeout while ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a proven background managing commercial electrical projects, excels at coordinating field and office operations, and is comfortable overseeing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from contract award through final completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.
- Oversee project financial performance, including labor productivity, material costs, subcontractor management, and forecasting.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure successful execution.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with field supervisors, foremen, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects on schedule.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to customers and internal leadership.
- Resolve project issues while maintaining strong communication between field operations and the office.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, safety requirements, and contract obligations.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, general contractors, and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
- Proven experience managing commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, or institutional electrical construction projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction drawings, specifications, and project contracts.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, labor, procurement, and overall project financials.
- Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Residential-only electrical project management experience is not sufficient for this role.
