Summary

Maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems in a paper manufacturing facility, ensuring safe and reliable operations of motors, transformers, and control systems.

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems, equipment, and components within the paper manufacturing facility. They ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the electrical infrastructure supporting the paper production processes.


Duties & Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment used in paper manufacturing

Install, upgrade, and modify electrical wiring, lighting, and control systems supporting paper production equipment

Maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation for the paper mill's electrical infrastructure

Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations specific to the paper industry

Assist with the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures for electrical systems

Collaborate with other maintenance trades and production departments as needed to support paper manufacturing operations

Maintain a safe and organized work environment in the paper mill



Requirements

Min. Education & Skills Required

Technical diploma or associate's degree in electrical engineering technology or a related field

3-5 years of experience as an electrical technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the paper industry

Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation

Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations applicable to paper manufacturing

Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming and troubleshooting is an advantage
