Electrical Technician I
Summary
Performs electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and installations like lighting and breaker resets in a facility setting, following safety protocols.
Overview
Under general supervision the Electrical Technician I is responsible for electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Installs and replaces lightbulbs
- Perform breaker resets, ballast and electrical wiring
- Inspects and maintains primary service installations and power distribution systems
- Follows basic electrical safety practices such as lockout/tagout procedure
- Completes work orders and paperwork related to job tasks
- Performs duties in accordance with departmental and regulatory safety procedures and standards
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivlant, Journeyman Elctrician certification is highly preferred
- Knowledge of predictive and preventative electrical maintenance functions
- Knowledge of electrical machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Proficient computer skills are required. AutoCAD experience a plus
- 0-5 years experience performing basic electrical repair and installation
- Ability to properly use of hand and power tools
- Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting, install lighting
- Ability to prepare, install nd connect electrical wiring
Physical Demands
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
