Summary

Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing facility, responding to production issues and ensuring operational efficiency.

Job Summary

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems to support production and facility operations. Respond promptly to repair requests and report daily progress to supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair machines for electrical faults and mechanical issues to ensure operational efficiency
  • Respond promptly to production repair requests to minimize downtime
  • Install, maintain, and repair facility electrical system components including emergency spotlights, exit lights, ceiling lights, and power sockets
  • Report daily status of all follow-up work to supervisors to maintain clear communication
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned to support team and operational needs

Required competencies and certifications

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics to accurately diagnose and repair systems
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits and wiring systems to ensure safe and effective repairs
  • Proficient in using electrical testing instruments such as multimeters and insulation resistance testers for precise troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently and carry out hands-on repair work to maintain equipment functionality
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve electrical and mechanical issues efficiently
  • Safety awareness to comply with workplace safety standards and procedures

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Technician or in Electrical Engineering roles
  • Possess NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Working at Heights (WAH) certification as an added advantage for safe work at elevated locations
  • Familiarity with basic electrical components such as relays, contactors, motors, MCCB, RCCB, MCB, and distribution boards (DB)
  • Knowledge of PLC and HMI controlled systems to support automation troubleshooting
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic components, 3-phase induction motors, and motor controllers to assist in mechanical repairs
