Electrical Technician

Summary

Installs, tests, and troubleshoots electrical panels for building automation, process industries, and railways while ensuring code compliance and safety.

Job Summary

You will perform journey-level installation, testing, and troubleshooting of panel solutions for building automation, process industry, and railway sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, install, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, components, and instrumentation to ensure system functionality
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and manuals to determine work procedures and resolve issues effectively
  • Plan and execute layouts and installations of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment compliant with local codes and guidelines
  • Use measuring devices, testing equipment, and power tools correctly to maintain safety and accuracy
  • Maintain adequate inventories of tools, supplies, and parts to support uninterrupted work progress
  • Deliver quality work within set timeframes while adhering to safety regulations
  • Assist and supervise junior technicians to regulate and administer their duties and responsibilities
  • Conduct routine 5S housekeeping at workshops and onsite work areas to maintain organization and safety

Required competencies and certifications

  • ITE/NiTech/Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical installation and panel wiring work

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Ability to maintain high accuracy in installing and troubleshooting panel solutions
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical or pneumatic systems
  • Strong time management and stress management skills
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and results-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player
