About the Role

AB Electronics is always looking for talented Electro-Mechanical Assemblers to join our box-build team. If you're detail-oriented, hands-on, and want to be part of a company that values craftsmanship and teamwork, we'd like to hear from you. This role focuses on box-build assembly - integrating PCBs, cable assemblies, and hardware into complete final units.

What You'll Do

  • Read work instructions, wiring diagrams, and routing sheets to determine assembly steps.
  • Mount PCBs to metal chassis frames using hardware and hand tools.
  • Install cables into PCBs and other components, connecting them across the box build.
  • Twist, bend, trim, or strip wire leads using hand tools or automated equipment.
  • Insert color-coded wires into designated points and clinch wire ends.
  • Press-fit components and apply heat-shrink insulation to specified leads.
  • Crimp wire leads using hand tools or clinch-and-cut equipment.
  • Assemble PCBs, wiring, and associated parts into final top-level products.
  • Conduct visual inspections and rework to meet IPC quality standards.

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience in box-build or electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and carefully follow routing sheets, work instructions, and wiring diagrams written in English.
  • Team-oriented and dependable, with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills to enter production data and pull up work instructions on a shop-floor terminal.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or J-STD-001 standards (certification a plus).
  • Prior experience in an ISO 9001 / AS9100 electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using FactoryLogix or a similar MES.
  • Knowledge of basic electronic components and polarity markings.
  • Ability to set up materials and tools independently.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods; frequently required to use hand tools, mount hardware, and perform repetitive fine motor tasks; close visual acuity required for detailed assembly work; occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs.
