2. Job Summary

Electrolysis operators will run electrolysis units used for metal recovery, monitor electrical and chemical parameters, handle chemicals safely, maintain batch-wise recovery records, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational SOPs.

The role involves operating and supervising electrolysis processes to achieve optimal metal recovery efficiency while maintaining process stability and safety. The operator will ensure proper control of current, voltage, electrolyte concentration, and processing time, while maintaining accurate documentation of batch operations and recovery outputs. Strict adherence to plant safety norms and environmental compliance standards is essential.

3. Key Responsibilities

Cycle operation and monitoring

• Operate electrolysis units as per defined production schedules and SOPs.

• Monitor electrical parameters such as voltage, current, and load conditions.

• Observe chemical parameters including electrolyte levels and composition.

• Record batch-wise recovery data and maintain operational logs.

• Identify deviations or abnormalities and report to supervisors immediately.

Maintaining Purity, Safety and Efficiency

• Ensure correct process parameters to maintain purity and recovery efficiency.

• Follow chemical handling protocols and use required PPE at all times.

• Maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

• Minimize process losses and support continuous operational improvements.

• Maintain disciplined adherence to plant SOPs and safety guidelines.

Equipment and Manpower Welfare

• Coordinate with team members to ensure safe and smooth shift operations.

• Maintain safe working conditions in the electrolysis area.

• Report unsafe conditions, chemical spills, or electrical hazards immediately.

• Support supervisors in maintaining operational discipline.

• Assist in guiding new operators or trainees when required.

Equipment Maintenance

• Conduct routine inspection of electrolysis units, power supply systems, and related equipment.

• Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical and process-related issues.

• Assist maintenance teams during breakdowns or preventive maintenance activities.

• Ensure proper cleaning and upkeep of electrolysis tanks and surrounding areas.

• Follow proper shutdown and startup procedures.

4. Required Qualifications

Education: Diploma/Graduation

Experience: 2–4 years

Technical Skills:

• Electrolysis unit operation for metal recovery.

• Monitoring electrical and chemical parameters.

• Safe chemical handling and batch record maintenance.

• Basic equipment inspection and maintenance.

• Understanding of industrial safety practices related to chemicals and electrical systems preferred.

Soft Skills:

• Strong safety awareness.

• Attention to detail in process monitoring.

• Disciplined SOP compliance.

• Teamwork and coordination with supervisors.

• Ability to work in shift-based industrial environments.
