Summary

Electronics Engineer at Insightec (Tirat Carmel, Israel) owns board development end-to-end — requirements, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout review, bring-up, and verification — plus cable/harness and interconnect design, addressing signal integrity, EMC/EMI, and power distribution, with hands-on debugging and multidisciplinary integration in what appears to be medical device devel

The role combines a strong electronics design background with expertise in system interconnections and the ability to independently lead tasks from requirements through design, integration, verification, and production support. It requires structured problem-solving, ownership of technical investigations, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions on schedule.

What you will be doing:

· Design and Own board development from requirements and component selection through schematic design, PCB layout guidance, simulation, bring-up, and verification.

· Own the specification, design, development, and verification of cable assemblies, harnesses, connectors, and electrical interfaces.

· Define interconnect architectures, connector selections, pin assignments, shielding, grounding, and cable routing in collaboration with electronics, mechanical, software, and system engineering teams.

· Address signal integrity, power distribution, EMC/EMI, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability requirements.

· Independently plan and lead engineering tasks, manage priorities and dependencies, identify risks, and deliver high-quality results on schedule.

· Lead hands-on debugging, technical investigations, and root-cause analysis of board-level and system-level failures; implement corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.

· Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications, schematics, interface specifications, cable drawings, bills of materials, test plans, and verification reports.

· Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams on prototypes, production transfer, acceptance testing, and resolution of manufacturing issues.

· Support legacy electronics and systems, including design improvements, component obsolescence, and field issues.

· Working according to Insightec Quality Policy, relevant Quality Procedures & Standards, and privacy & safety rules.

Requirements

What you have:

· BSc in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant hardware development experience.

· Proven experience designing cable assemblies, harnesses, connectors, and interconnect solutions for complex systems.

· Experience with schematic, PCB layout review, board bring-up, and design verification.

· Practical knowledge of grounding, shielding, EMC/EMI, signal integrity, and power distribution at board and system levels.

· Experience integrating multidisciplinary systems involving hardware, software, and mechanics.

· Strong hands-on debugging skills and demonstrated experience conducting structured failure investigations and root-cause analysis.

· Ability to work independently, translate system requirements into engineering deliverables, and own tasks through completion.

· Experience using simulation tools and preparing comprehensive design and verification documentation.

· Ability to develop and use AI-assisted workflows and scripting or automation tools to improve engineering efficiency and quality, with critical review and validation of outputs.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate technical work across teams and suppliers.

Advantages:

· Experience in technical leadership, mentoring engineers, or leading cross-functional engineering activities.

· Previous qualification or hands-on background as an Electronics Practical Engineer.

· Experience developing medical devices.
