ELECTRONICS ENGINEER

About the Position: This vacancy is a career ladder position; it may be filled at the GS-05/07/09 or 11 level. Noncompetitive promotion to the full performance level GS-11 is authorized without further competition when selectee is eligible & recommended by management.

Serve as Project Engineer assisting on assignments dealing with the design, fabrication and testing of electronic equipment and systems.

Prepare repair standards for systems or items of equipment of complex and conventional electronic and allied equipment.

Conduct tests of new and existing equipment which may require modification and/or design of special test equipment and prepare test procedures as required.

Assist maintenance shops in supporting and executing the Depot Repair Mission.

Perform specialized electronics engineering work in instrumentation and radio systems, including servo mechanisms, data transmission, industrial controls, microwave components, radar, and RF equipment

Furnish technical advice and supervision to shop personnel as well as lower graded engineers on the accomplishment of tasks.
