Electronics Test Engineer
Summary
Designs and runs tests for visible and infrared sensors, including focal plane arrays, using lab equipment and software like LabView or MATLAB.
SAAZ is advancing sensor solutions, from design and development to production and delivery of space-qualified hardware. Our expertise spans UV, visible, NIR, and IR sensors, including scanners, starers, event-based sensors, and LiDAR, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like tiled 3D IC packaging and cryo cooling architectures.
The successful applicant will be responsible for testing a variety of visible and infrared focal plane arrays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and qualification of new test methodologies and test systems
- Perform electrical and optical testing of in-process wafers, detectors, arrays, and FPA assemblies
- Perform wafer probing of integrated circuit wafers
- Analyze test data to evaluate performance and identify trends, anomalies, and failures
- Develop and use novel measurement systems, test procedures, and software
- Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain test equipment
- Work with senior technical staff to perform experiments and document findings
- Follow schedules and written instructions and document results, including technical reports
- Collaborate effectively as a team member
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including PPE requirements and hazardous-material handling
- Perform all activities safely and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Desired Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of testing optoelectronic sensors and optical devices
- Basic understanding of sensor physics and optics as it related to sensor testing.
- Basic knowledge using electronic test equipment such as power supplies, source meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Coding experience in any of the following languages: C#, C++, Matlab, JAVA
- Experience running testing software using programs from software such as LabView, Matlab and others
- Experience in Firmware development and implementation is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ability to create charts and communicate clearly
- Know how to read and understand schematics
- General laboratory and cleanroom practices
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to detail, and excellent documentation capability
- Candidate should be enthusiastic and highly self-motivated
- Ability to adapt to a flexible and changing schedule
Success Metrics:
- Development of clear test plans and test procedures
- Design and setup of test stations, including interface software
- Test equipment compliance and calibration oversight
- Demonstrate good lab safety, cleanroom and ESD rule compliance
