Electronics Test & Quality Technician I

Open 18d

Position Summary

The Test & Quality Technician supports product validation and release readiness by setting up lab tests, running test procedures, collecting data, and drafting clear test reports. This role works hands-on with electrical/electronic systems and lab equipment to execute test scenarios developed with Test Engineers and Design Engineers.

The ideal candidate is a sharp, detail-oriented technician who is comfortable in a lab environment, can follow and improve test procedures, and confidently uses AI tools to accelerate test documentation, generate or refine test scripts, assist with regression testing, and help troubleshoot issues. This position requires practical technical ability and curiosity not an engineering degree.

Essential Functions:

  • Execute product tests and validation procedures on multiple samples prior to release, supporting release readiness.
  • Set up lab fixtures, wiring, and instrumentation required for testing (power, signal, data capture, measurement connections).
  • Operate common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, power supplies, function generators, and data acquisition tools.
  • Collect, organize, and extract test data; ensure traceability and repeatability of results within the existing system.
  • Draft and maintain test reports, test logs, and validation documentation using standardized company formats and tools.
  • Work with Test Engineers and Design Engineers to identify test scenarios, edge cases, and customer use cases; execute tests from the customer/system point of view.
  • Support hardware testing, firmware/software logic testing, and regression testing as directed by test engineering leadership.
  • Use AI tools to help generate, refine, and validate test cases and test scripts; extract insights from logs/results; and accelerate documentation workflows.
  • Assist with debugging by reproducing issues, capturing evidence (measurements, logs, steps), and clearly communicating findings to engineering.
  • Create and execute structured test scenarios based on system-level design documents, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Perform basic schematic and technical diagram interpretation sufficient to set up tests and verify correct connections.
  • Support rework and prototype build activities including soldering and component replacement when needed.
  • Support selected production-related activities as assigned to assist manufacturing needs and overall operational priorities.
