Principal Position Description

The Principal serves under the guidance of the Superintendent and, in partnership with parents and staff, provides Christ-centered leadership for the school. The Principal helps ensure that policies, programs, and daily operations reflect the mission of the school and promote a safe, nurturing environment with high academic and spiritual expectations for all students.

The Principal cultivates a culture of academic excellence, Christian character, and professional growth among faculty and staff. Working closely with the Superintendent and fellow school leaders, the Principal supports a unified, mission-aligned educational program across the District. Responsibilities include oversight of scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular programs, personnel support, emergency preparedness, and facility operations.

Personnel

  • Collaborate with the Superintendent in recruiting, selecting, and retaining qualified faculty and staff who support the mission and vision of the school.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and encouragement to faculty and staff to promote professional growth and effectiveness.
  • Address personnel matters thoughtfully and in alignment with District policies and established procedures.
  • Ensure faculty and staff are informed of current policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Foster a culture of open communication, mutual respect, and collaboration among all staff members.
  • Support a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Supervision

  • Provide spiritual, instructional, and operational leadership to faculty and staff in implementing the school’s educational program.
  • Promote clear and healthy communication among faculty, staff, students, and parents.
  • Guide student discipline in a manner that reflects Christian principles, fairness, and restoration.
  • Encourage strong, positive relationships between the church and school community.
  • Oversee the faculty and staff evaluation process to support reflection, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Provide direction and support for extracurricular programs to ensure they align with the mission of the school.
  • Organize and facilitate regular faculty meetings to strengthen collaboration, alignment, and shared vision.

Instructional Leadership and Curriculum

  • Guide the continuous development and implementation of curriculum to promote academic excellence and spiritual formation, including instructional materials, technology, supplies, course offerings, and graduation requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to provide professional development opportunities that encourage instructional improvement and ongoing professional growth.
  • Support the consistent and effective use of approved course outlines and instructional resources across all subject areas.

Student Affairs

  • Administer student discipline in accordance with the policy manual, emphasizing growth, responsibility, and restoration.
  • Coordinate student programs in collaboration with faculty and staff to ensure a vibrant and engaging school experience.
  • Partner with students, parents, and faculty to cultivate positive Christian character and attitudes in all aspects of school life.
  • Oversee school publications to ensure alignment with school standards and mission.
  • In partnership with the Superintendent and Admissions Office, guide and oversee the admission process for new students.

Budget

  • Work in cooperation with the Superintendent in planning, monitoring, and maintaining a balanced school budget that reflects responsible stewardship.
  • Communicate relevant budget information to faculty and staff to support thoughtful planning and fiscal responsibility.

Public Relations and Development

  • Partner with the Superintendent in representing and promoting the school within the broader community, including churches and community groups, through presentations, media, and other outreach efforts.
  • Support fundraising and capital development efforts that enhance programs, facilities, and long-term sustainability.

Buildings, Grounds, and Maintenance

  • Oversee the care and appropriate use of school facilities in accordance with church agreements and established policies.
  • Help ensure that all buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe, welcoming, and well-kept condition.

General Duties

  • Oversee the development of the site master schedule.
  • Approve and coordinate school activities and maintain alignment with the District Master Calendar.
  • Provide reports to the Superintendent and Board of Directors as requested.
  • Coordinate the planning and supervision of school events and commencement exercises in collaboration with the Superintendent.
