What You’ll Do
- Plan, teach, and evaluate instruction for students having difficulty with foundational literacy skills, reading, or writing during Skills Block and WIN time of academic days
- Work 1:1 or in small group settings with students that are behind grade level in reading
- Coach teachers on best practices for teaching reading
- Analyze assessment and observational data to support differentiated instruction plans for students
- Work with building leadership to make decisions regarding curriculum, assessments, programming
- Support development of reading culture in classrooms and across the school
- Work with Elementary Leadership and Community Team to lead biannual literacy events for families
- Collaborate with Special Education Teacher to support success of MTSS/RTI accommodations
- Support teaching development in evidence-based literacy education theories and techniques, as well as reading instruction knowledge and approaches
- Help grade level teams to develop scope and sequence of literacy skills
- Support the development of rubrics to ascertain student mastery of foundational literacy skills
- Provide progress monitoring assessment as needed
- Develop and facilitate the appropriate trainings to improve literacy knowledge and skills
- Complete other related duties and tasks as assigned
Compensation & Schedule
- Salaried/Exempt
- Signing Bonus: $1,000
- Annual Salary Range*: $50,500 - $63,549
- Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed
