Description: A substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction, promoting student progress and managing the classroom environment in the absence of the full time classroom teacher.

Areas of Expected Proficiencies:

• Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school, state and all applicable laws and regulations

• Implement existing lesson plans provided, if provided; Collaborate with principal and grade level teachers to determine lesson plan, if not available

• Demonstrate professional practices in teaching in alignment with Rancho guidelines and policies

Other Expectations:

• Actively and collaboratively participate as a member of the school faculty when present

• Keep phone and email communications responsive

• Perform all other duties as assigned
