Big Stone County is seeking an Eligibility Worker to work within our Family Services Department. This position is responsible for processing and determining eligibility for income maintenance programs, maintain case records, enter data into various State Systems, analyze outcomes and approve eligibility. This position must complete necessary state, federal, and county requirements. Eligibility Workers must understand all financial programs to be able to properly request and gather information needed to assist clients and be able to accurately determine program eligibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent as well as three years of successful clerical experience and or experience working with the public, or two years of successful clerical experience in a social services agency or some combination or the two.
  • Valid Drivers’ License, able to provide proof of insurance, clean driving record
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team

This is a full time position with County benefits and is scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. It is a grade 8 position with a 2026 pay starting at$26.77/hour.
