As an Principal Embedded Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
Designing, developing, and maintaining both new and legacy code for embedded medical devices, MDDS systems, and native phone apps
Responsibly integrating all aspects of security into the design and development of embedded real-time software for electro-mechanical devices.
Participating in code reviews for final product.
Acting as a software engineer on projects, performing vulnerability mitigation, threat analysis, and secure coding throughout new and existing product’s lifecycle
Assisting in the creation of detailed project plans; be accountable for and adhere to aligned development schedules.
Deriving detailed technical specifications from general product requirements and specifications.
Working closely with cross-functional resources to ensure compliance and effectiveness during the product development process.
Serving as a cybersecurity mentor to other Engineers and provide technical cybersecurity assistance to Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations groups
Generating and executing test procedures to verify product performance versus requirements.
Managing product documentation through Change Order and Release processes.
Participating in all reasonable work activities deemed suitable and assigned by management.
Conforming to, supporting and enforcing all Company policies and procedures.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and minimum of eight (8) years combined industry experience in embedded software development and/or product design in a regulated industry.
OR
High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and 12 years combined industry experience in embedded software development and/or product design in a regulated industry.
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
Experience in a regulated design environment with medical device development, FDA or ISO registered work experience.
Hands on experience with either C or C++ in an embedded systems environment.
Experience in Embedded Cybersecurity: i.e. Cryptography, PKI, Secure Boot, Firmware Security, Threat Modeling.
Experience with development and debugging of ARM based processors such as Cortex M0, M4, and A series
Experience with USB, UART, I2C, and SPI interfaces
Experience with RTOS (e.g. VxWorks, ThreadX, FreeRTOS) and/or embedded Linux design and architecture
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed in this role include:
Experience with Graphical User Interface development.
Experience with wireless communications (Cellular, Bluetooth, WiFi) or location services (GPS)
Experience with high level programming languages.

Work location: Hybrid - required on-site at Eagan, MN office at least 3 days per week
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic / international.
