Embedded GSOC Physical Security System Analyst

Work Location: Pavillion Damansara (Kuala Lumpur)

Reporting to: GSOC Team Supervisor

Working Hours: 8 hours per shift according to monthly roaster

• 7am -3pm (morning shift)

• 3pm – 11pm (afternoon shift)

• 11pm – 7am+1 (night shift)

Main Responsibilities may include:

a. 24x7 Monitoring and Surveillance

· Hotline & Email Monitoring: Realtime monitoring and provide immediate response to Hotline calls and email requests.

· System Event Surveillance: Continuous, real-time monitoring of events & alerts of access control (personnel movements, unauthorized access attempts, and tailgating incidents), camera system (Perimeter, Entrances, Server Rooms, Common Areas) and Visitor Management System using Integrated Security Management System (ISMS) platforms (e.g., Genetec) for out-of-norms situations.

· Alarm Monitoring: Immediate identification and validation of intrusion alerts, fire alarms, and panic button activations.

b. Incident Response and Case Management

· Triage and Escalation: Categorizing alarms/alerts by severity (High/Med/Low/False) and initiating pre-defined playbooks.

· Case Coordination: Provide the correct response when something abnormal happens and coordinate with on-site’s Point of Contacts (POCs) (e.g., Regional Security Director, Building Security, local Security Vendor, on-site Facilities POC, site’s POC, IT Team, etc.) for incidents.

· Case Management: Create & maintain detailed digital logs of all cases and follow through until the case is closed.

c. Access Management

· Badge Issuance: Manage the registration and issuance of Mobile Credential badges and programming access for staff with Physical Badge.

d. Operational Reporting and Documentation

· Daily Log Keeping: Maintain detailed digital logs of shift activities, and security incidents.

· Reporting: Produce shift, weekly, and monthly reports regarding security breaches, anomalies, or system malfunctions.

e. System Maintenance and Support

· Sites System Maintenance: Support sites’ worldwide in their System Maintenance conducted by local security vendors.

· Equipment Check: Ensure all systems in the command center (e.g., Genetec, email, phone, IT network, etc.) are functioning 24x7 with the correct settings.

Audit Support: Assist with yearly audits related to security standards (e.g., ISO27001, OSPAR)

Requirements:

a. Educational and Experience Background

· Minimum Qualification: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits, or a Diploma/Degree in IT, Security, or related fields.

· Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of verifiable experience in a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), or as a senior security officer.

b. Core Skills and Competencies

· Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office (Office, Words, Excel and Teams) and familiar with Genetec system, and incident management software.

· Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written English and another second language (English at ESS [English for Specific Services] Level 6 preferred).

· Attention to Detail: Ability to spot anomalies, suspicious objects, or unusual behavior in complex environments.

· Multitasking & Decision Making: Capable of working under pressure, handling multiple alerts simultaneously and making quick decisions during emergencies.

c. Licensing and Legal Requirements

· Security License: Valid license to practice in Malaysia (if applicable).

· Background Check: Clean criminal record and successful completion of drug testing.

d. Physical and Mental Fitness

· Ability to work shifts: Willingness to work 8 to 12-hour shifts (Day/Night) on a 24x7 rotating schedule.

· Mental Alertness: High concentration levels for long duration monitoring.
