Requirements:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with embedded Linux
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, and scripting, including Bash
  • Experience with Linux OS build toolchains such as Buildroot and Yocto
  • Ability to think at a system level, from application code down to the metal
  • Knowledge of common communication interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, UART, SPI, and I2C
  • Experience profiling and tracing real-time applications, and debugging with gdb and remote debug tools
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Ability to read technical documents such as schematics, datasheets, and application notes, and write code against them
  • Ability to diagnose systems-level and hardware issues
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Degree-level qualification in Computer Sciences
  • Availability to travel internationally
Responsibilities:
  • Develop embedded hardware products based on Linux for our musical products
  • Work with onboard support packages, drivers, tools, OS package configuration, user-space programs, and scripts
  • Build solutions for product feature requirements and unify similar features across product lines
  • Construct and support libraries and services used by application development teams
  • Take ownership of product performance from the application layer down to driver impact
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and product design teams to create compelling products
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product architecture is robust and fit for purpose
  • Set up and debug build systems such as CMake and Bitbake

We are a product development team focused on creating embedded hardware products based on Linux for our musical products. We work closely with our global application development teams, hardware engineers, and product design teams to build robust, customer-delighting solutions. This is a full-time onsite role within our Product Development department in the UK.
