Embedded Firmware Engineer
Summary
Embedded Software Developer for a pharmaceutical tech company, developing drug delivery systems using C, RTOS, BLE/NFC, and hardware peripherals in a hybrid role based in Netanya.
LTS is a leading pharmaceutical technology company that develops and manufactures innovative drug delivery systems for the pharmaceutical industry.
LTS´ commercial offering encompasses more than 20 marketed products.
LTS operates today from 5 sites: Netanya (Israel), Adrenarche (Germany), West Caldwell (NJ, USA), St. Paul (MN, USA), and Shanghai (China).
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Embedded Software Developer to join our team in Israel. This role focuses on microcontroller-based products, low-level peripheral interfaces, real-time embedded software, and extensive system-level debugging. The engineer will also provide practical electronics support when needed.
The position is permanent, full time, hybrid. It is intended for engineers who enjoy investigating problems across the boundary between hardware and firmware.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and debug low-level embedded C firmware for microcontrollers in bare-metal and RTOS environments.
- Investigate and resolve complex hardware - firmware issues using systematic testing, measurements, logs, and signal-level analysis.
- Implement and troubleshoot device drivers and hardware interfaces, including GPIO, I2C, SPI, ADC, PWM, timers, interrupts, and UART.
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters to isolate faults in prototypes and existing products.
- Read schematics, review hardware behavior, and recommend or implement simple circuit and board modifications when required.
- Support occasional board bring-up and validation of power, clocks, reset lines, communication interfaces, and connected peripherals.
- Serve as the team’s practical point of contact for day-to-day electronics questions and coordinate with external hardware experts when deeper expertise is required.
- Develop reliable, maintainable firmware suitable for regulated medical-device products.
Direct Manager: SW Team Lead

- Strong embedded C skills, including registers interrupts, memory constraints, and timing-sensitive code.
- Hands-on development of low-level drivers for GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, ADC, PWM, timers, and related peripherals.
- Experience with RTOS concepts and implementation, including tasks, scheduling, synchronization, interrupts, and real-time constraints.
- Ability to read and understand electronic schematics and independently handle basic electronics tasks, such as reviewing interfaces, checking signals, selecting simple components, and recommending minor circuit or board changes.
- Confident, independent use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, debuggers, and other laboratory equipment.
- Experience with BLE and NFC technologies - an advantage.
- Experience in medical-device development or another regulated industry - an advantage.
- Self-driven, methodical problem solver who can work independently and collaborate effectively in a small cross-functional team.
