Embedded Software Engineer - HU
- Development of the Tulip OS
- Maintenance and support of bootloader, kernel, and userspace development for Tulip hardware
- Working alongside product management and customers to identify key features and product performance
- Contributing to strategic planning
- Maintaining the Tulip Operating System including building, packaging, and supporting the OS
- Configuring and maintaining routing, networking, and device configurations
- Maintaining and adding bootloader, kernel patches, and device trees on Tulip hardware
- Porting the Tulip OS to other hardware targets
- Maintaining and supporting OS toolchain and versioning
- Debugging and resolving customer issues with support staff and technical teams
- Supporting security-related tooling for engineering firmware releases and release process
- Leveraging modern AI-assisted tooling to accelerate troubleshooting and improve engineering workflows
- Experience building embedded products used daily by customers for 4+ years
- Experience with a systems language such as C, C++, or Rust
- Experience in an OS build system such as Yocto, Buildroot, or Android
- Experience with shell scripting and command line environments
- Familiarity with an interpreted language such as JavaScript or Python
- Familiarity with common hardware buses and devices such as I2C, SPI, PCIe
- Working understanding of fundamental web and networking concepts including HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, sockets, proxy servers
- Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs over a microservice architecture
- Experience with Redux, Node.js, Go, Electron, MongoDB, Postgres, WebSockets
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar
- Experience as a team lead or technical lead for a software team
