Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded software components for mobile device integration and network testing applications.
  • Support the certification and validation of new mobile devices for compatibility with our solutions.
  • Implement and optimise features for various mobile chipsets, including device-specific configurations and diagnostics.
  • Contribute to Android service development and system-level modifications, including rooting and custom module integration.
  • Analyse network signalling, protocol behaviour, and RF performance across supported device families.
  • Investigate and resolve device-level issues impacting measurement accuracy and network performance.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation, including device qualification reports and test procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with distributed engineering teams across Sweden, Malaysia, and India.
  • Provide customer-facing support for escalations related to device measurements and network performance.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4–7 years of experience in embedded software engineering or a related field.
  • Strong C/C++ development skills in embedded systems and USB communication.
  • Experience in Android development using Java and Kotlin.
  • Knowledge of the Android operating system, including rooting, Magisk, bootloaders, and system access.
  • Strong understanding of LTE and 5G NR technologies.
  • Experience with 3GPP signalling protocols.
  • Ability to collaborate with distributed engineering teams across Sweden, Malaysia, and India.
  • Clear technical documentation skills, including preparation of device qualification reports and test procedures.
  • Customer-facing communication skills for L3 support escalations.
  • Self-driven, with the ability to investigate and resolve device issues independently.

Nice-to-have:

  • Expertise in Qualcomm QXDM, Samsung Exynos, and MediaTek mobile chipsets.
  • Experience with TEMS, Nemo, or similar drive-test tools.
  • Experience in network testing, optimisation, or benchmarking.
  • Experience in Android system engineering, including TEMSification, custom ROMs, and Magisk modules.
  • Experience with Git and GitHub Actions CI/CD for embedded or Android projects.
  • Python scripting experience for test automation or tooling in embedded/mobile environments.
