Job Summary

Join Thales as an embedded software engineer working on real-time systems for aerospace, telecommunications, and IoT devices. Collaborate in Agile teams to develop, test, and deploy embedded solutions that integrate low-level hardware with high-level functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded OS software on platforms such as Linux, VxWorks, and FastOS Linux to support real-time applications
  • Write and maintain embedded software using languages including C, C++, VB.NET, ADA, and Assembly for diverse devices like radar and smartcards
  • Utilize programming performance tools and measuring instruments to optimize embedded software efficiency and reliability
  • Design, adapt, and implement simulation tools to support integration and testing activities on embedded platforms
  • Configure embedded systems and applications for both wayside and onboard environments, ensuring compliance with communication protocols such as DDS and ARINC
  • Analyze business data processes to build strategic approaches that align software development with organizational goals
  • Apply mathematics, statistics, and data technologies to enhance software design and problem-solving capabilities
  • Incorporate customer requirements into software solutions to ensure usability and functionality meet end-user needs
  • Work with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP to support software deployment and scalability
  • Implement automated deployment processes using tools such as Helm, Yaml, Ansible, and Docker to streamline software delivery
  • Use collaboration and project management tools including JIRA and Confluence to coordinate development efforts and document progress

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Master of Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (implied by profile statement)
  • Experience working in DevOps, Agile, or Scrum teams to deliver software in dynamic, challenging environments
  • Ability to work on a variety of device sizes and types, including telecommunications and IoT hardware
