Embedded Systems Developer in Lund!

About the role

As an Embedded Developer in the team, you will focus on simplifying device integration into various customer systems, spanning both on-premises and cloud environments. You will work in an agile setting, taking ownership of the full development lifecycle from design to monitoring.

You are offered

  • Active open-source engagement: Direct experience working with and actively contributing to global open-source communities like GStreamer, ffmpeg, and Linux.
  • Full development lifecycle ownership: Hands-on involvement in every stage of core features - from initial design and threat modeling to coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Modern tech-stack & protocols: Practical experience with low-latency media streaming (RTSP/S, H264), modern practices (incremental releases), and widely used tools like C, Rust, Python, Docker, and Wireshark.

Work tasks

This role focuses on developing robust media streaming capabilities, including the packaging and delivery of high-quality video, audio, and metadata.

  • Develop new media streaming features for camera systems
  • Collaborate with technology partners to integrate our devices seamlessly into diverse customer systems.
  • Design and implement packaging for video, audio, and metadata
  • Perform threat modeling, programming, and code reviews
  • Conduct testing, deployment, and monitoring of software components
  • Collaborate with technology partners to integrate cloud-hosted applications
  • Utilize and contribute to open-source components like GStreamer and ffmpeg
  • Identify and establish technical connections across the organization

We are looking for

  • Advanced knowledge of C programming in a Linux environment
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming
  • Relevant university education in Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in English

It is meritorious if you have

  • Knowledge of programming languages like Rust or Python
  • Experience with network communication protocols such as TCP and HTTPS
  • Understanding of media streaming and video codecs like RTSP, H264, and MP4
  • Familiarity with tools like gdb, valgrind, docker, Jenkins, and Wireshark
  • Experience working with open-source software communities
