Embedded Travel Risk Specialist
Description
We are seeking a travel risk specialist to embed within a global security & resiliency (GSR) team, supporting a multinational organisation with its day-to-day travel risk advisory requirements.
The role will focus on delivering consistent, high-quality pre-travel risk assessments and traveller guidance, supporting employees travelling to higher-risk and complex destinations, primarily across the EMEA region, including Pakistan, Central Asia and the Caucasus. This position is delivery-focused and advisory in nature.
The successful candidate will operate within an established security framework, supporting a high volume of travel requests and acting as a dependable extension of the regional security function.
Requirements
Travel risk assessment & advisory
- Conduct pre-travel risk assessments for travel to higher-risk and complex destinations, including parts of the EMEA region, Central Asia and the Caucasus along with selected international locations.
- Provide clear, practical, and proportionate risk advice to the organisation’s travellers based on destination risk, traveller profile, and purpose of travel.
- Support the organisation’s formal travel approval and review process by providing timely risk input and recommendations.
- Contribute to destination risk summaries and traveller briefing materials.
Operational support
- Support the regional GSR function with day-to-day travel security activities.
- Help manage a high volume of travel risk requests in a structured and efficient manner.
- Ensure travel advice is delivered in line with existing policies, standards, and frameworks.
- Monitor travel patterns and flag emerging issues or trends to senior team members.
Intelligence & information use
- Leverage internal reporting and external intelligence sources to inform travel risk assessments.
- Consume and synthesise geopolitical, security, and health intelligence into traveller-friendly guidance.
- Escalate significant incidents, concerns, or intelligence developments through agreed channels.
Stakeholder coordination
- Act as a point of contact for travellers seeking guidance on higher-risk travel.
- Coordinate with internal security and travel management teams as required.
- Liaise with approved external providers (e.g. medical and security assistance companies) to support traveller safety.
Process & continuous improvement
- Support ongoing refinement of travel risk processes, templates, and guidance.
- Identify practical improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency of travel risk delivery.
- Contribute to lessons-learned discussions following incidents or disrupted travel.
