[EMC] NEO Agile Scrum Master (1 Year Contract)
Summary
Serves as an Agile Scrum Master for Bosch’s Audio team, coaching a cross-border group to deliver automotive infotainment software using SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban practices.
This position will be contracted through Bosch’s external vendor under a one-year agreement.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Agile Scrum Master to join our Audio team, which develops core audio components for state-of-the-art Automotive Infotainment systems.
In this role, you will act as a servant leader, coach, and mentor, helping the team build a great product that is highly valued by our customers. Since this project operates within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), you will play a key role in coordinating cross-team dependencies, driving continuous improvement, and facilitating target-oriented collaboration across international borders—including regular communication with our teams in Germany.
Main Responsibilities
1. Agile Facilitation & Process Ownership
- Ceremony Management: Organize, schedule, and facilitate crucial Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Method Champion: Guide and coach the team in adopting Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban practices effectively, ensuring agile values and principles are deeply embedded in daily operations.
- Metrics and Transparency: Define and utilize agile metrics (e.g., team velocity, burndown/burnup charts) to make progress transparent and drive reliable sprint planning.
2. Servant Leadership & Team Coaching
- Empower & Mentor: Act as a servant leader to foster a self-organizing, autonomous, and high-performing team culture.
- Protect the Team: Shield the team from external disruptions, manage top-down pressure, and establish a high degree of psychological safety.
- Impediment Removal: Proactively identify, track, and facilitate the resolution of technical or process-related roadblocks that hinder team productivity.
3. SAFe Coordination & Dependency Management
- Cross-Team Alignment: Coordinate non-technical dependencies and align with other Scrum teams within the Agile Release Train (ART).
- ART Participation: Active participation in scaled agile ceremonies such as Scrum of Scrums, Product Owner/Scrum Master Syncs, and Program Increment (PI) Planning.
4. Collaboration & Quality
- Product Owner Collaboration: Support the Product Owner in maintaining a refined, well-estimated, and prioritized Product Backlog.
- Quality Assurance Support: Assist the team in maintaining high development and testing quality standards, ensuring adherence to the Definition of Done (DoD).
Mandatory Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Agile Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of Agile Methodologies, Kanban Principles, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Technical Domain Knowledge: A good overall understanding of Software Development and Software Testing lifecycles to better guide the team’s technical practices.
- Language & Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills. Proven capability to moderate, host, and lead meetings confidently with cross-functional partners and international stakeholders, specifically in Germany.
- Leadership Style: Strong coaching, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills with a proven track record of operating as an empathetic servant leader.
- Agile Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM/PSM I) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certifications.
Nice-to-Have (Any of the following will be a strong advantage, but are not mandatory)
- Tooling Proficiency: Experience working with agile tracking tools like Jira or IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC).
- Industry Standards: General knowledge of ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) or functional safety standards (ISO 26262).
- Infotainment Experience: Prior experience in automotive software development, infotainment systems, or audio technologies.
