Emergency Management Support

Applied Research Solutions is seeking an Emergency Management Team Member. The Emergency Management Member will support planning, coordination, and execution of activities that enhance organizational readiness, response, and recovery from all-hazards incidents. This role contributes to maintaining resilience by participating in preparedness initiatives, ensuring compliance with emergency management policies, and assisting with real-time incident support during emergencies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in developing, conducting, testing and overseeing EM training programs.
    • Create, implement, and oversee/evaluate EM programs, Rehearsal Of Concept (ROC) drills for Fire Evacuations and accountability roll-up and Tornado safe-zone SIP responses.
    • Develop, coordinate, and execute EM, CBRN, hazardous materials, Shelter-In-Place (SIP), and Active Shooter (SIP) program plans and operations.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating emergency plans, procedures, and continuity documents.
  • Support hazard identification, risk assessments, and capability analysis activities.
  • Participate in exercises, drills, and training events; assist with scenario development, logistical support, and evaluation.
  • Provide response support during emergencies, including information sharing, coordination, and resource tracking.
  • Document incident activities and produce after-action notes, reports, and improvement plans.
  • Maintain emergency management equipment, supplies, and technology systems to ensure operational readiness.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to strengthen communication and preparedness.
  • Support implementation of corrective actions and readiness improvements.
  • Assist in delivering emergency preparedness education and awareness materials to staff.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational emergency management standards and requirements.
  • Support re-call for 24x7 response for site situations.
  • Support Team weather related assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain, and maintain, a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 8 years of Emergency Management experience
  • Experience developing and conducting training programs.
  • Knowledge of Air Force Emergency Management (EM) and a wide range of health, safety, security directives, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable safety standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF) plan organization, chain of command/lines of authority, and organization response roles and responsibilities; and natural disaster response procedures, training techniques, and use of specialized EM and CBRN equipment
  • Experience with, and knowledge of, developing EM, CBRN, hazardous materials, Shelter-In-Place (SIP), Active Shooter (SIP) program response plans and operations.
  • Knowledge of creating, implementing, and overseeing /evaluating EM programs, Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) drills for Fire Evacuations and accountability roll-up and Tornado safe-zone SIP responses.
  • Skill in analyzing situations and taking appropriate emergency action.
    • Ability to make instant decisions and select a course of action under high stress conditions associated with emergency situations.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Thoroughly familiar with all aspects of how the various automated systems interface and what effect they have on EM program execution.
  • Experience with various Air Force software including MICT, and Emergency Management reporting applications.
  • Strong and effective organization, communication and customer coordination skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to prepare and present briefings, coordinate planning efforts and manage program activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
