Emergency Medicine - Liverpool

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• examine patients and take their histories
• order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
• advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
• consult and refer to other medical practitioners
• act as a patient advocate
• prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations

Expected Hours

• full-time or part-time
• locum work available as well
• Emergency department is open 24 hours, with shifts from 8am - 6pm and 6pm to 8am.

Qualifications

• all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• all family physician must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
• all applicants must have a current PALSCertification
• all applicants must have a current ACLSCertification
• College of Family Physicians of Canada ER certification and current ATLSCertification considered an asset.
