Emergency Room Vet Technician

Red River Animal Emergency Clinic in Fargo, ND is hiring full-time Emergency Room Vet Technicians to help deliver exceptional care in a fast-paced, emergency environment.

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS OUR EMERGENCY ROOM VET TECHNICIAN?

You'll work closely with our dedicated veterinarians to deliver compassionate, high-quality medical treatments during emergency pet cases. This fast-paced role will keep you moving and busy, as you'll tackle a wide range of responsibilities based on each pet's unique needs and situation. You'll help triage incoming cases to make every day as efficient and productive as possible. As assigned, you'll help your team with performing IV fluid or oxygen therapy, feeding tube management, wound care, patient assessments, collecting/sending samples to off-site labs, and more.

You'll run in-house lab tests, such as CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation tests, etc., and promptly notify the team about the results. On the technical side, you'll perform tasks like blood/plasma transfusions and placing IVs/central lines/nasal insufflation catheters, while deepening your knowledge in radiography, anesthesia, ventilation, critical care, and more. Treating all clients, pets, and coworkers respectfully and professionally, you'll help elevate our level of care and maintain a collaborative environment!

WHEN WILL YOU WORK?

Schedules can vary, but our vet techs usually work 3 days per week. We're flexible, but we'd prefer a candidate who can work overnights and/or weekends.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

Emergency Room Vet Technician Qualifications

• Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
• Veterinary technology certification/licensure OR an equivalent amount of work experience in emergency veterinary medicine
