Why Apex?

Most hospitals say they care about culture. We designed ours.

Apex Vets is an independently owned emergency & specialty hospital built on what we call the Apex Climb—a team-first approach where no one climbs alone. We operate like a rope team: we support each other, communicate clearly, and move forward together, especially when things get hard.

We believe great medicine comes from people who feel supported, challenged, and proud of the work they do.

What Makes This Role Different

You're not here to simply work shifts.

You're here to practice emergency medicine alongside a team that values collaboration, clinical excellence, and continuous growth.

At Apex, ER doctors are trusted to manage cases independently while having access to experienced technicians, specialists, and leadership that genuinely support one another.

As an independently owned hospital, we move quickly, value new ideas, and give our doctors a meaningful voice in the future of the organization.

For qualified candidates, ownership opportunities are available.

No non-compete agreements. We believe great doctors should stay because they want to—not because they're contractually required to.

What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced environment:

  • Perform patient evaluations, diagnostics, and treatment planning
  • Manage outpatient and hospitalized emergency cases
  • Perform emergency procedures including centeses, CPR, wound repair, and stabilization
  • Interpret diagnostics including laboratory work, radiographs, and point-of-care ultrasound (AFAST/TFAST)
  • Communicate effectively with clients and referring veterinarians
  • Collaborate with specialists and nursing staff on complex cases
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records

This is real emergency medicine with the support and resources needed to practice at a high level.

Who Thrives Here (The Apex Climb Mentality)

People who:

  • Value teamwork as much as clinical skill
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Stay calm under pressure
  • Take ownership of patient outcomes
  • Support teammates during difficult cases
  • Want to continue learning and growing

People who struggle here:

  • Prefer practicing in isolation
  • Avoid collaboration
  • Want to simply clock in and clock out
  • Resist feedback and continuous improvement

What You'll Gain

  • Competitive base salary plus production
  • Ownership opportunities for qualified candidates
  • Strong technical and nursing support
  • Access to specialists for collaboration
  • Modern equipment and advanced diagnostics
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Continuing education support
  • 401(k) with employer contributions
  • Opportunity for professional and leadership growth

We believe great ER doctors deserve great support systems.

The Reality of the Role

Emergency medicine is demanding.

You'll manage critical cases, navigate difficult conversations, and make important decisions under pressure.

You'll also have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on patients, clients, and teammates every day.

The work is challenging—but you'll never be expected to do it alone.
