Employee Benefits Manager 12 Month FTC

Discussion

Want to help shape benefits that make a real difference to people at Sky? As Employee Benefits Manager, you’ll join the Reward Centre of Excellence and play a central role in developing and delivering benefits that are competitive, sustainable, easy to use and support business performance. This is a broad, high-impact maternity cover role. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, lead brilliant benefits communications, improve the digital employee experience and support Sky through significant business change. As a valued employee of Sky, you’ll benefit from discounts on Sky products, an excellent pension scheme and private healthcare.

What you’ll do

  • Strategy & Insight: Develop and execute the UK & Ireland benefits and wellbeing strategy alongside the Head of Reward. Use data, market trends, and employee feedback to build commercial business cases and deliver a clear outcomes-based roadmap.
  • Communications & Engagement: Own the multi-channel benefits engagement plan. Translate technical, pension, share plan, and wellbeing information into clear messaging, leading campaigns that drive take-up across frontline and desk-based teams.
  • Platform & User Experience: Act as the product owner for the benefits platform, using analytics and feedback to improve user journeys. Manage annual enrolment cycles, vendor integrations, and explore digital tools/AI to enhance efficiency.
  • Change & Transformation: Lead benefits due diligence, transition planning, and communications for organisational change, restructures, and M&A activities, partnering effectively with group counterparts (Comcast/NBCU).
  • Delivery & Governance: Oversee day-to-day operations across healthcare, pensions, risk benefits, share plans, and salary sacrifice. Manage vendor performance, ensure regulatory/tax compliance, and handle complex queries alongside Legal, Tax, Finance, and Payroll.

What you’ll bring

Essential criteria:

  • Qualifications & Expertise: Relevant professional qualification (or equivalent deep practical experience) across reward, benefits, pensions, HR, or project management.
  • Core Benefits Knowledge: Broad understanding of employee benefits (health/wellbeing, pensions, salary sacrifice) alongside UK benefits compliance, payroll, employment tax, and data protection.
  • Strategic & Operational Delivery: Substantial track record in a broad employee benefits role within a large or complex organisation, translating benefits strategy into measurable delivery plans.
  • Communications & Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex topics into engaging employee communications across varied channels.
  • Project & Provider Governance: Strong project, change management, and commercial capability, with experience managing competing priorities, senior stakeholders, and third-party advisers or providers.
  • Analytical & Digital Capability: Strong analytical skills using financial, employee, and market data, alongside proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint) and the responsible use of AI tools (e.g., Copilot).

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Advanced Qualifications: Additional formal qualifications in reward, pensions, project management, or communications.
  • International & Corporate Change: Experience with international benefits, cross-group structures, mergers, acquisitions, disposals, or corporate separations.
  • Platforms & User Experience: Hands-on experience with benefits technology, digital platform administration (annual cycles, testing), UX/content improvement, or product ownership.
  • Insights & Measurement: Knowledge of employee listening, benefits benchmarking, campaign measurement, and platform analytics to demonstrate overall benefit value and engagement.

What Success Looks Like

  • Strategic Impact: Delivery of an evidence-based benefits roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • High Engagement: Clear, targeted communications that measurably increase benefit awareness and take-up.
  • Seamless Operations: Flawless execution of annual enrolment, renewals, and change initiatives with well-managed risks.
  • Optimised Experience: A modern, reliable benefits platform that simplifies navigation for all colleagues.
