Position Details

The Office of Career Services at The University of Tampa is hiring for an Employer Relations Events Coordinator.


This position will manage high-volume, year-round recruiting activities for the Office of Career Services. They will coordinate internal employer relations and recruiting programs with organizations seeking to hire talent through a wide variety of programs, including on-campus interviews, employer branding events, and program integration. This position will also oversee the organization and implementation of high-profile career fairs each semester and other large-scale employer events. The position supports the employer engagement pipeline strategy by providing ongoing customer service and coordination for employer partners and connect them with the appropriate University stakeholder. The position reports to the Manager of Employer Development & Partnerships.

This position is designated as an essential employee and may be required to report to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to severe weather or other conditions.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the logistics, management, and running of career-related programs, events, and activities, including career fairs, on-campus employer activities, and corporate/employer campus visits.
  • Manage and support the planning and execution of discipline/industry-focused fairs and Career Connections programs in collaboration with academic partners and the Manager of Employer Development and Partnerships.
  • Foster sustainable relationships with campus stakeholders to promote interaction with employers/industry partners, alumni, colleges, faculty, staff, and student groups. In conjunction with the Manager of Employer Development & Partnerships, assist employer partners in navigating campus engagement opportunities to realize a campus-wide engagement strategy.
  • Support the development and management of increased focus on community partnerships in the Tampa Bay area in collaboration with the Manager of Employe Development and Partnerships.
  • Maintain a master events calendar and coordinate event efforts and scheduling in partnership with college/school counterparts to provide more transparency and visibility of Career Services events at The University of Tampa.
  • Supervise student staff within the Events & Marketing Internship who assist in marketing, event coordination, and management, while contributing to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
  • Expand online resources and social media outreach in order to increase student involvement. Promote employer and alumni engagement opportunities with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employer partners participating in Career Services programs/events by responding to inquiries, providing timely customer service, and engaging in educational and workforce programming.
  • Seek feedback through a formal evaluation process to improve programs and events and support continued employer engagement.
  • Oversee content creation and scheduling for various Career Services social media channels and create and implement student engagement strategies to increase awareness and attendance for events, fairs, and other resources.


Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree Required with 2 years related experience. Master’s preferred in related field.
2. Related experience in event coordination, customer service, or Higher Education preferred; orientation, residence life, or athletics.
3. High level of customer service; collaboration, exceptional work ethic; attention to detail; organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through ability.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to speak effectively before groups.
5. Experience with career management technology (Handshake or similar CRM platform); career resource tools, project management, and social media applications preferred.
6. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
7. Proficient with Microsoft Office products and familiarity with online resume and job listing systems; Strong skills in Excel and database management experience.
8. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices, attend training and fully engage in learning and utilizing university-wide technology, specifically Workday, 12Twenty (SpartanHIRE), and other department-specific platforms.
9. Opportunities to travel locally and out of state to employer site visits and conferences.


Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer - Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Evenings and weekends may be required
