Employment Consultant (Deschutes County)

As an Employment Consultant you will be responsible for facilitating inclusive employment for individuals with diverse abilities. In this role you will carry a caseload of individuals that need support with finding employment. You will support these individuals by providing career assessments and job readiness training. Additionally, you will work with community employers by educating them about developing a diverse work force and understanding reasonable accommodations.
This position requires travel from work site to work site, to and from Administrative Offices, Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Health Services, and other off-site locations in the following areas within Deschutes County: Bend, Redmond, and Sisters. This is a Full-Time position, 40 hours per week. May require weekend and holiday availability.
What You’ll Do
Community Networking and Workforce Evaluations
- Build relationships with local businesses to identify job opportunities for individuals, with or without ADA accommodations.
- Educate employers on the benefits of a diverse workforce and promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Conduct worksite assessments and support individuals in integrating into workplace culture.
- Provide on-site support and encouragement and advocacy as needed.
Case Management
- Guide individuals through job preparation activities like resume writing, interview practice, and transportation planning.
- Deliver Discovery/Career Exploration services and develop vocational profiles.
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with support teams to ensure consistent, person-centered services.
