Summary
Assists medical staff with endoscopy procedures by preparing rooms, maintaining scopes and equipment, and ensuring patient care standards in a clinical healthcare setting.

Rate of Pay: $30.64/hour + DOE
Summary
Facilitates quality patient care and assists professional and/or nursing staff in performing nursing procedures. Responsible for pre-cleaning, routine care and maintenance of scopes and equipment used in Endoscopy Unit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares the Endoscopy Room according to endoscopic procedure requirements.
- Inspects and utilizes equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations and TFH Policy and Procedures.
- Maintains scopes and accessories according to manufacturer’s recommendations and TFH Policy and Procedures.
- Transports and assists in patient positioning in accordance with instructions from medical personnel.
- Assists physicians and registered nurses in performing endoscopy procedures.
- Assists nursing in the endoscopy unit with admission, recovery, and discharge.
- Attends in-service training to validate or refresh basic endoscopic procedures.
- Collects specimens from physician and ensure proper specimen securement.
- Maintains Endoscopy Supply levels.
- Assists with Endoscopy Room turnovers.
- Assists with patient care.
- Seeks guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties
- Understands self-protection and operates machinery safely in the decontamination room.
- Responsible for deep cleaning of Endoscopy supply bins and specified carts as per a deep cleaning schedule.
- Available to work standby.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience
6 months to one year of relevant experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Upon Hire
BLS: Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS certification).
- Within 3 months of hire into job
Other Experience/Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience in a clinical healthcare setting
- Ability to operate endoscopy equipment
- Ability to operate computerized sterilization equipment following written guidelines
Preferred:

1+ years of previous experience as an Endoscopy Tech

Endoscopy Tech Certification

EMT/ Nurse Assistant certification or 1+ years of equivalent experience
