A data engineer owns the company's energy data analytics: analyzing production, consumption and storage data, building AI-based price and energy forecasts, and running a central data/reporting infrastructure with KPI dashboards.   • Analyze energy data, including production, consumption, and storage information, to identify optimization opportunities
  • Conduct AI-based market analysis and contribute to the development of price and energy forecasts
  • Analyze asset data, project progress, and operational, environmental, and financial performance
  • Perform trend, variance, and gap analysis, translating findings into actionable recommendations
  • Validate data quality and perform plausibility checks to continuously improve analytical outputs
  • Develop and maintain a central data and reporting infrastructure in close collaboration with IT teams
  • Create KPI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with management, operations, sales, and country organizations to support data-driven decision-making

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Informatics, Physics, Engineering or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years building data pipelines that ran in production, with real users and real consequences when they broke
  • High proficiency in SQL, including window functions and time-series aggregation
  • Strong Python skills
  • Experience operating a time-series or analytical data store such as TimescaleDB, PostgreSQL at scale, ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or comparable
  • Practical experience deploying and maintaining your own infrastructure
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform or similar
  • Experience with CI/CD, containers, and cloud
  • Ability to take ownership when a pipeline fails and describe subsequent improvements
  • Comfortable being the sole owner of a system
