Analyzes complex regulatory cases for energy infrastructure (pipelines, hydroelectric, utilities) and defends positions in hearings and settlements.

As an ENERGY INDUSTRY ANALYST LITIGATION some of your typical work assignments include: Serves as a regulatory policy expert in the resolution of cases set for hearing of exceptionally complex, precedent-setting, or pioneering regulatory policy issues associated with the regulation of natural gas and/or oil pipeline companies, hydroelectric projects and/or electric utilities. Detects deviation from current regulatory principles and Commission policies and prepares recommendations as to the appropriate disposition. Prepares data requests, settlement proposals, and testimony based on the review/analysis of the filing and issues, which contain a discussion of economic and regulatory policy issues as well as related recommendations. Explains Trial Staff's settlement positions during settlement conferences and defends written testimony under cross-examination during a hearing. Presents analyses to team members and management. Participates on teams and performs the role of Case Team Leader. Trains and mentors less experienced staff by providing technical expertise and guidance regarding exceptionally complex regulatory policy issues and in the analysis and review of complex economic, regulatory, accounting and statistical data concerning the regulation of natural gas and oil companies, hydroelectric projects and/or electric utilities. Increases own and others' knowledge and understanding of relevant Commission precedent and policies, relevant regulations, and changes in the electric, natural gas pipeline, oil pipeline, and/or hydroelectric industries.
