The Opportunity

Alpha Inc. is looking for a Journeyman Electrician who knows how to own the work — not just work the task list.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced electrician who can look at a set of plans, build the game plan, get the right materials moving, lead apprentices, solve problems in the field, and deliver work that is safe, clean, code-compliant, and built to last.

You’ll take electrical projects from layout and material takeoff through installation, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning. And when the unexpected shows up — because it will — we expect you to think ahead, find the solution, and keep the project moving.

If you take pride in your craft, hold yourself and your crew to a high standard, and believe leadership means teaching as well as doing, you might be our kind of electrician.

About Alpha Inc.

Alpha Inc. is a Hawai?i-grown company working across construction, drilling, energy, and infrastructure. We take on work that demands skill, grit, teamwork, and people willing to take ownership.

Three values define how we show up:

Leading with Heart – Build people while you build the project. Lead with respect, teach what you know, and create a safe and productive crew.

Strength in Unity – No lone wolves. Work with apprentices, supervisors, project teams, and other trades to get the job done right.

Alpha Mentality – Own it. Plan ahead. Solve problems. Hold the standard. Finish strong.

For this role, those aren't words for the wall. They're how we expect you to run the work.

What You’ll Own

Run the Electrical Work

  • Take ownership of assigned electrical projects from material ordering and project planning through installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Lay out work, complete material takeoffs, coordinate tools and resources, and develop a clear plan before the crew starts burning hours.
  • Read and interpret complex electrical plans, drawings, specifications, and project documents — then turn them into quality work in the field.

Build It Right. Build It Safe.

  • Perform electrical installations, repairs, and troubleshooting in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, project specifications, and Alpha standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and operate with strict compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
  • Know when something isn't right — and have the experience and judgment to correct it.

Lead From the Front

  • Give apprentices and assigned team members clear daily direction, priorities, expectations, and project objectives.
  • Train apprentices in electrical best practices, means and methods, safe work procedures, and quality standards.
  • Hold your crew accountable for doing the work safely, correctly, and according to plan — while giving them the coaching they need to become better electricians.

Solve Problems Before They Become Problems

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, identify root issues, and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Communicate field conditions, project progress, material requirements, and potential roadblocks to supervision and project stakeholders early — not after they become emergencies.

Bring Range to the Field

  • Depending on the project, your work may include solar and battery systems, underground duct banks, three-phase electrical systems, and motor controls.
  • You don't need to know everything. But you do need the experience, curiosity, and Alpha Mentality to figure things out and execute.

What You Bring

  • This isn't an entry-level electrical position. We're looking for an experienced craft professional who's earned the ability to lead work in the field.

Required:

  • Current Hawai?i Electrical Journeyman (EJ) License
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant electrical experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Tools necessary to perform journeyman-level electrical work
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical plans and drawings
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting ability
  • Proven ability to plan work, complete material takeoffs, coordinate resources, and execute electrical projects
  • Ability to direct, train, and develop electrical apprentices
  • Demonstrated commitment to strict safety compliance
  • Strong professional work history and recommendations

Even Better:

  • 10–15 years of electrical experience
  • Solar and battery system experience
  • Underground duct bank experience
  • Three-phase electrical system experience
  • Motor controls experience

The A-Player Standard

  • The strongest Journeyman Electricians don't need someone standing over their shoulder telling them what happens next.
  • They plan ahead.
  • They know what material they'll need before the crew is waiting for it.
  • They catch problems before they become rework.
  • They don't compromise safety to save five minutes.
  • They teach apprentices instead of just barking instructions.
  • And when they put their name on an installation, it means something.
  • That's the standard we're looking for.

Why Alpha?

  • You aren't coming here just to pull wire.
  • You're joining a team doing meaningful electrical and energy work across Hawai?i — with the opportunity to bring your experience to challenging projects while helping develop the next generation of skilled electricians.
  • We value people who take ownership, work as one crew, care about their craft, and want their work to speak for itself.
  • If that's how you're wired, we should talk.
