Energy Marketing Intern
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated intern to join our Marketing and Midstream team. As an Energy Marketing Intern, you will work alongside marketing, commercial, and midstream professionals to support business decision-making across Devon's energy value chain. This internship provides exposure to commodity markets, commercial strategy, market fundamentals, transportation and logistics, and business analytics. You'll gain hands-on experience working with real-world market and operational data while developing an understanding of how commercial and marketing decisions impact commodity value realization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Marketing, Midstream, Contracts, Operations, and Technology teams to support business objectives.
- Analyze commodity market fundamentals, including pricing, supply and demand trends, and market dynamics.
- Support commercial evaluations related to marketing, transportation, and market access opportunities.
- Identify trends and opportunities within business and market data to support decision-making.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate key insights.
- Collect and analyze datasets related to energy marketing, logistics, pricing, and operations.
Commercial & Technical Exposure
- Crude oil, natural gas, and NGL markets.
- Commodity marketing and commercial operations.
- Supply and demand analysis, pricing, and market intelligence.
- Midstream infrastructure and transportation optimization.
- Business analytics, automation, AI, and digital tools supporting energy marketing.
Education
- Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in:
- Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Energy Management, or Supply Chain Management
- Petroleum, Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
- Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology
- Or a related discipline
- College level: Freshmen, Sophomore or Junior
- GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Interest in energy markets, commodity marketing, commercial strategy, or midstream operations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, or data visualization tools preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively and learn new technologies and business concepts.
