About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Management Consultant to partner with our leadership team and drive organisational efficiency and growth. In this senior role, you will analyse our business structures, methods, systems, and procedures, and provide expert advice to optimise resources, improve workflows, and enhance overall business performance. You will work closely with director and senior management to identify opportunities for improvement, develop actionable strategies, and support the implementation of changes that align with our long-term objectives in the electrical engineering industry.


Key Responsibilities:


a. Organisational Analysis & Strategic Development

i. Analyse our organisation's current operational structures, workflows, and management systems to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

ii. Assist and encourage the development of objectives, strategies, and plans aimed at achieving greater efficiency and the effective use of the organisation's resources and capabilities.


b. Process Improvement & Change Management

i. Prepare and recommend proposals to revise methods and procedures, alter workflows, redefine job functions, and resolve organisational problems.

ii. Lead or support change management initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation of new processes and systems across operational and administrative functions.


c. Financial & Operational Optimisation

i. Conduct cost-benefit analyses and operational audits to assess the efficiency of current practices and recommend improvements.

ii. Assist in optimising the deployment of labour, equipment, materials, and resources to maximise productivity and minimise waste.


d. Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

i. Meet with internal stakeholders to discuss organisational needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

ii. Provide expert guidance to senior management on strategic decision-making, risk assessment, and resource allocation.


e. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

i. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting frameworks to monitor organisational performance against strategic goals.

ii. Prepare detailed management reports, feasibility studies, and business cases to support informed decision-making by the leadership team.


f. Compliance & Industry Best Practices

i. Ensure that recommended improvements and operational changes comply with relevant New Zealand regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.

ii. Stay informed of emerging trends in electrical engineering and business management to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.


Qualifications & Experience:


1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Management, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.


2. If the above qualification is not met, a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in management consulting, business analysis, or operational improvement roles is required.


3. Proven experience in analysing organisational structures, developing strategic plans, and implementing process improvements that deliver measurable results.


4. Strong understanding of business operations, resource planning, and financial management.


5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.


6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present proposals and findings to senior leadership effectively.


7. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams, including engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.


8. Proficiency in business analysis tools and project management software is desirable.
