Engenheiro de Software Fullstack Pleno (Java/Flutter)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Engenheiro de Software Fullstack Pleno (Java/Flutter) based in Brazil.

This is a fully remote opportunity for a mid-level Fullstack Software Engineer joining a technology team in the HR Tech sector.
You will work across backend and frontend development, building and evolving software with Java and Flutter.
The role combines hands-on engineering with architecture, testing, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and continuous improvement.
You will contribute to modern, scalable solutions based on microservices and asynchronous communication patterns.
Quality is central to the position, with active participation in automated testing, code reviews, technical standards, and documentation.
You will also collaborate closely with teammates, help mitigate technical risks, and support the development of less experienced professionals.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve software features, identifying opportunities for refactoring and technical enhancements.
  • Work across the application stack, contributing to backend services with Java and frontend experiences with Flutter.
  • Participate actively in technical discussions and recommend tools, technologies, and approaches that improve the development process and product quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues, participate in alignment meetings, and remain engaged across the team's communication channels.
  • Use Azure DevOps and GitLab to manage development activities, version control, and task organization.
  • Maintain high code quality through automated unit, integration, and mutation testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical standards, architecture decisions, and software development best practices.
  • Estimate complexity, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies for challenging technical tasks.
  • Build and maintain integrations between services using asynchronous messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ and AWS SQS.
  • Contribute to technical documentation using Markdown, Swagger/OpenAPI, C4 Model, UML, and other appropriate documentation practices.
  • Support cloud-based environments and contribute to development and production infrastructure using AWS and EKS.
  • Assist with onboarding and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers, contributing to team capability development.
  • Requirements

    • Solid professional experience with Java 8+, Java EE, Spring Boot, Quarkus, and MicroProfile.
    • Hands-on experience with Flutter for building modern, interactive frontend interfaces.
    • Familiarity with Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) for creating and managing development and production environments.
    • Experience with asynchronous integrations using RabbitMQ and/or AWS SQS.
    • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
    • Strong understanding of software architecture and development practices, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, MVC, and Clean Architecture.
    • Experience implementing automated unit tests with JUnit and a strong commitment to software quality.
    • Knowledge of Redis for caching and in-memory data storage.
    • Proficiency with Git and structured version-control practices such as GitFlow.
    • Familiarity with AWS services and cloud integration.
    • Experience creating technical documentation with Markdown, Swagger/OpenAPI, C4 Model, and UML.
    • Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
    • Ability to estimate complex tasks, identify risks, and work proactively toward practical solutions.
    • Nice-to-have skills:

      • Additional experience with Flutter for mobile development.
      • Familiarity with Flutter Desktop for cross-platform desktop applications.
      • Experience with Electron JS for desktop applications built with web technologies.
      • Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
      • Experience with mutation testing using PIT/Pitest.
      • Familiarity with GitLab pipelines and continuous integration/deployment practices.
      • Knowledge of DynamoDB for scalable database implementations.
      • Experience with Linux systems and administration.
      • Experience mentoring, onboarding, or supporting less experienced developers.
