Undertake onboard training to gain practical experience as part of an education program
Responsibility and Authority
- Participates in watch standing duties as directed by the EOW and in Engine Room maintenance duties as directed by Staff Chief and be familiarized with the technical hotel service systems as directed by the First Engineer
- Perform tasks as directed by supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Depending on the Cadet’s college program present the program requirements to Staff Chief and during the stay onboard present the completion of the tasks line out in the program requirements
- Assist the Engineers with certain administrative tasks like preparing documentation for bunkering samples, inventory of technical library, and similar tasks directed by the Staff Chief.
- Complete the company specific Engine Cadet Program.
Education and Experience
- The Engine Cadet qualifications shall conform to all International and National conventions and regulations as required by the Flag State, and by the STCW 95.
- Knowledge of the Company SMS.
