Engineer 2, EHS

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining EHS programs, ISO 14001/ISO 45001 requirements, legal and corporate EHS standards; conducting EHS audits, risk assessments, incident/near-miss investigations, and follow-up of corrective actions.
• Lead and manage assigned EHS activities, including regulatory compliance, EHS training, hazardous material management, EHS inspections, and coordination with cross-functional teams to achieve EHS KPIs and continuously improve site EHS performance

Education & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of related experience in EHS operations, with working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field

Skills

• Leadership capabilities to coordinate EHS activities, influence cross-functional teams, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement of site EHS performance.
• Strong interpersonal, teaming, communication, problem-solving, risk assessment, training, and root cause analysis skills.
• Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. across functions, sites, cultures, and external organizations, with willingness to travel as required.

Working Conditions

• Construction site short time and work in manufacturing environment
• Work in a standard office and manufacturing environment, with regular presence in production, warehouse, utility, construction, and other operational areas as required.
• May be exposed to operational EHS hazards and is expected to follow all applicable EHS controls and PPE requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly walk through and inspect manufacturing and operational areas, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, and conducting site inspections as required.
• Ability to work in environments where PPE may be required and to respond to EHS incidents or emergencies when necessary.

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

Quality and Environmental Responsibilities

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
