Summary

Develops and maintains C#/.NET device drivers and control software for automated test systems, integrating with hardware via USB, SPI, I2C, and other interfaces.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and validate automated test cases using C#/.NET for manufacturing test platforms.

  • Develop and maintain software components within existing test infrastructure and applications.
    Develop device and instrument drivers to communicate with laboratory and manufacturing test equipment and collect test data.

  • Build and enhance software tools that improve manufacturing test automation, efficiency, and product quality.

  • Collaborate with hardware, product, and test engineers during system integration, test development, and prototype validation.

  • Perform software debugging, test-system troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis using modern laboratory equipment.

  • Develop and execute software validation plans to ensure reliable production deployment.
    Work closely with Product Development, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams during New Product Introduction (NPI).

  • Participate in code reviews, engineering design reviews, software validations, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Perform software maintenance, bug fixes, release activities, and configuration management.

  • Document software designs, test procedures, validation results, release information, and technical findings following engineering best practices

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Instrumentation (E&I), Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Computer Engineering, Computer Science (CSE), Information Science (ISE), or related disciplines.

  • 2026 graduating batch (or applicable hiring year).

  • Minimum academic performance as per company hiring policy.

  • No active backlogs at the time of joining.

Skills

  • Strong programming fundamentals in C#, C++, or C.

  • Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.

  • Knowledge of C#/.NET development is desirable.

  • Basic understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms.

  • Understanding of software development, debugging, and testing practices.

  • Basic knowledge of communication protocols such as USB, SPI, I²C, UART, TCP/IP, or serial communication.

  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments, instrument communication, or hardware debugging is desirable.

  • Exposure to Git or version control systems is an advantage.

  • Experience with academic projects, internships, or hackathons involving software development, test automation, instrumentation, or embedded systems is desirable.

  • Knowledge of automated testing, optical communication, manufacturing software, or instrument driver development is an added advantage.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Passion for learning new technologies and engineering practices.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional global teams.

  • Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions

  • The work mode of Finisar Test Development Department, India is Mandatory 5 days at office.
