Engineer

Open 32d

You'll join a lean, focused team building open (MIT/Apache-2) primitives meant to be remixed and modded into novel blockchain infrastructure. Rather than being assigned narrow tasks, you'll direct your own focus toward the highest priority problems in your area of deep expertise. Depending on your background, you might spend your time streaming unstructured data over globally distributed infrastructure, designing and testing onchain execution environments, optimizing cryptographic primitives with math and assembly, pushing embedded databases to their performance limits, or crafting intuitive experiences for users exploring fast blockchains. You'll work closely with a small, senior team of former engineering leaders and researchers, and gather in person at the Palo Alto office every few months.

Responsibilities

  • Stream unstructured data over globally distributed infrastructure
  • Design and test onchain execution environments
  • Optimize cryptographic primitives using math and assembly
  • Push the performance of embedded databases to the limit
  • Craft intuitive experiences for users to explore fast blockchains

Requirements

  • Based in the United States
  • Experience leading a productive engineering organization
  • Experience maintaining a large open-source codebase, especially in Rust
  • Understanding of the difference between writing code and writing the right code
