Engineer I - SW TEST
Description
The WLAN uCode Test team is responsible for validating the functionality, stability,
and performance of WLAN modem ucode across modern and nextgeneration WiFi
technologies, including WiFi 6/6E, WiFi 7, and upcoming WiFi 8.
The team plays a critical role in both presilicon and postsilicon validation, working
closely with firmware, systems, hardware, RF, and automation teams to ensure
highquality delivery of WLAN features from early bringup through product
commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute functional, regression, stability, and performance testing for WLAN
uCode
• Validate WLAN features across WiFi 6/6E, WiFi 7, and emerging WiFi 8
standards
• Perform daily and weekly regression testing on presilicon (RUMI/emulation)
and postsilicon platforms
• Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases
• Analyze failures, debug issues, reproduce problems, and provide detailed
logs, traces, and crash dumps to development teams
• Support bringup, configuration, and maintenance of test setups involving
WLAN cards, reference boards, and lab infrastructure
• Perform KPI measurements across bandwidths, channels, MCS, and
advanced feature configurations
• Validate advanced WLAN features such as MIMO, MUMIMO, OFDMA,
beamforming, puncturing, MLO, positioning, and lowlatency use cases
• Work closely with Firmware, Systems, HW, and RF teams during feature
development, integration, and commercialization
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics,
Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Strong understanding of wireless communication fundamentals
• Handson experience with embedded systems testing and debugging
• Experience with test automation or scripting (Python, Perl, Shell, or C
preferred)
• Ability to analyze logs, firmware traces, and crash dumps
• Familiarity with lab environments and test equipment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with IEEE 802.11 standards, specifically WiFi 6/6E, WiFi 7, and
exposure to WiFi 8 concepts
• Exposure to modem, PHY, or MAC layer testing
• Experience with presilicon validation platforms (RUMI / emulation) is a plus
• Knowledge of CI / Jenkinsbased regression systems
• Prior experience with WLAN firmware, uCode, or driver testing
• Understanding of RF performance metrics and WLAN KPIs
